We were lucky with the weather and it was lovely to see the garden so busy. The BBQ was soon in full swing, with burgers and sausages on the grill, music playing and plenty of food to go around. Residents were able to sit outside with their families, catch up with familiar faces and enjoy everything that was going on around them.
There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the afternoon. Staff had the chance to spend time with families, residents enjoyed chatting with visitors, and there was plenty of laughter and conversation over the course of the day.
These occasions are really important to us at Harbour Rise. This is our residents’ home, and we want their families and friends to feel welcome and part of life here too. Events like our Summer BBQ give everyone the chance to spend time together in a relaxed setting and are always something our residents look forward to.
We are also delighted to say that the BBQ raised over £1,700. The money raised will go towards our residents and help fund additional activities, outings and those extra touches that can make such a difference.
A big thank you must go to the local businesses who supported us with raffle prizes and donations. We are very fortunate to have such generous support from our local community and we really do appreciate it.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along, donated or helped on the day. From setting up tables and running stalls to working the BBQ and clearing everything away afterwards, it was a real team effort.
Most importantly, our residents had a wonderful afternoon surrounded by family, friends and familiar faces, and that’s what the day was all about.
