Our home provides care for elderly residents including those with dementia and physical disabilities. We are proud to provide the very best care to all our residents. Harbour Rise is situated in Roundham, an area in Paignton, Devon known for its panoramic views of Torbay, close to the harbour, shops and beaches. With considerable investment, Harbour Rise has been designed with every comfort for the elderly in mind. We have 40 bedrooms with ensuites (all with toilets and many with showers). We also have four apartments that lead out onto our beautiful gardens. There are lifts to enable easy access to all floors. All bedrooms are single occupancy with double occupancy available if required.

The bedrooms, bathrooms, showers and toilets are fitted with a wireless nurse call system. The bedrooms are fitted with televisions as standard and residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture and other items to help make their room a home from home. We have a visiting Chiropodist, Hairdresser, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Dentist and Optician.

Harbour Rise has two bright lounges with wonderful sea views. A special feature is our unlicensed bar providing a facility to entertain guests, a focal point for meeting residents and visitors and socialising. The other lounge has a large seating area with a balcony, easily accessible overlooking the gardens and harbour with stunning views of Torbay. Our unique café provides a comfy seating area with kitchen facilities to make hot and cold drinks, with delicious complimentary cakes always available.

There are two dining rooms, one of which is south facing overlooking the patio. Our modern kitchen provides our residents with wholesome nutritious ‘home cooking’ with all dietary requirements catered for. Harbour Rise is proud to have a five, ‘very good’ Food Hygiene rating.

The well-tended gardens are found to the front and side of the building where we have created a wonderful large patio beside the home for our residents to sit outside and enjoy the sea views. At the bottom of the garden is a lovely summer house where one can soak up the seaside atmosphere. We also have a Secret Garden where we encourage our families to reflect and remember their loved ones.

Every day is special…

Our entertainment, whether at our home, including big events such as our Summer Party and the fabulous Christmas Market or visits out to places such as Cockington, The Willows Shopping Centre or Paignton Pier are all created to provide something positive for our residents to remember.

Our ‘intergenerational project’ has become an established success working with Braeside@Sunflowers, St Christopher’s Primary School and Brixham College. All the pupils get involved with our residents working on various projects. Regular visits from Wren, our English Springer Spaniel, adds to the excitement and happiness to all who meet her. We have a dedicated library area with a modern reading machine which magnifies the text and we also have a library on wheels to deliver choice directly to the bedrooms.

We love board games and puzzles. New technologies such as Alexa and tablets have now become firm favourites to enrich our activities. Physical activities within our home include dancing, mobility exercises and ball games.
