We’re delighted to be sharing a very special story in an upcoming issue of English Riviera Magazine, which will be dropping through doors across Torbay from 26th January.
The feature tells a story rooted in continuity, care and community – values that have always been at the heart of Harbour Rise.
It looks back to the home’s early days under the ownership of John Hopkins, before following the journey forward to when Mark and Cecile took the home on, nearly 18 years ago. Today, that story comes beautifully full circle, with John now returning as a much-loved part of our day care community – accompanied by his loyal dog, Rosie.
It’s a moment that perfectly captures what Harbour Rise means to so many people: familiar faces, lasting relationships, and a place where people continue to feel welcome, valued and at home, whatever stage of life they are in.
As a long-established, family-run care home in Paignton, we’re proud of the deep roots we have in the local community and the connections that grow and endure over time. This story is a wonderful example of how Harbour Rise is not just a care home, but a place built on trust, continuity and genuine human connection.
