On Thursday, we had our first entertainer back into the home! Amanda returned following a negative LFD test, she was wearing all the correct PPE – an apron, face mask and gloves – a lot of plastic on but a far cry from the PVC trousers you might have worn a long time ago! Amanda sang in our central corridor space, singing to the residents in both lounges, it was an unusual setting but it worked really well! The residents ( and the staff!) loved it, it was another step closer to normality. Nothing like a good old ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Bobby’s Girl’ or ‘Blanket on the Ground’ to put us in a dancing mood!!
Our residents this week have enjoyed making puzzles, made craft with Bendarros ( soft wax – Eileen made her own glasses! ), ball games, quizzes and armchair exercises. The residents also made fresh fruit salads which were delicious and well received.
