Christmas 2020 and New Year at Harbour Rise

Jan 4, 2021

Your relatives opened their Secret Santa present on Xmas Eve: this is the present that Harbour Rise buys for each one of our residents. On Xmas day, they then opened their presents with father Xmas Reg who volunteered to come in and spend the day to assist with presents opening. This went down really well. All the tables were decorated for Xmas and the atmosphere was as festive and lovely as possible.

Midnight celebrations for New Year were done on New Year’s Eve at Midday with the residents so that we could all do it together. A residents meeting took place on 30th December during which they requested to have a buffet at tea time for New Year’s Eve with mulled wine and mince pies ( they had previously asked the same on Christmas Day!) Our residents also had salmon and new potatoes on New Year’s Day which they all very much enjoyed.

During the whole festive period, we had lots of fun, enjoyed Christmas quizzes, games and pantomimes and Christmas films and shows on our digital TV. Janet, Maureen, Heather and Stan celebrated their birthdays! Huge congrats to Stan for his 101st Birthday looking so well!

Despite Covid-19, I am really pleased to say that Christmas at Harbour Rise went as well as possible. Our two visiting pods also assisted our residents to have family visits which are so important for their well-being.

So, that’s it for Xmas this year! All decorations will be taken away tomorrow. In the meantime, we wish you all the best for 2021 and thank you for your continued support.
