Harbour Rise has two large lounges for the Service Users, one is a television lounge and the other, which has excellent sea views, is used for Social Activities. The Home provides facilities for Service Users such as a radio, a small library and a talking book library, numerous games including scrabble, Dominoes and Cards.
Magazines and a daily paper are provided. Music is available from entertainers each day, from activities staff and also via CD’s.
A regular programme of Entertainment is provided with outside Entertainment and Service Users are encouraged to participate.
Occupational Therapy is provided for the Service users and Service Users are asked during their assessment if they have any particular hobbies or interests and if they have they are encouraged by Staff to continue to follow them, either in their own rooms or by providing a separate area within the lounges to follow them.
Service Users wishing to take up new hobbies will be encouraged in the same way. The Home recognises that some Service Users need stimulation and staff are encouraged to participate in the various events with them.
Harbour Rise has its own bar which provides a focal point for socialising, especially for Sundays, Birthdays and Christmas.
The Home also has two Minibus’s equipped with wheelchair access for trips out, weather permitting. We regularly have visiting entertainment.
